Becky started doing genealogy work in 2007. Kem didn’t get started in a serious way until 2014. We both love genealogy – doing the research, learning about our ancestors and learning about the associated history. We have taken numerous trips to research items that aren’t (or weren’t) online. It’s great fun for us.
You can contact us at kem.marcum@tx.rr.com. We will respond as best we can. Let us know what you think, what you would like to see, or to help us with information we don’t have.
While we strive for accuracy and completeness, there are doubtless errors. We all know that primary source documents aren’t always available. Sometimes assumptions are made using some logic or secondary sources. Our work is ongoing, we continue to add and update information on a regular basis.
There are other Markham researchers we would like to acknowledge and thank.
Curtis Hartwig and his wife, Nancy (Markham) Hartwig, authored the book “Descendants of Deacon Daniel Markham”. This book has been a huge source of information, and really helped us in building our tree. When Curtis retired from genealogy, he turned over his work to us. Thus, we are the custodians of this book and the source tree. The tree created in Roots Magic for this book is here (see the Help page for how to navigate, the root person is my Dad which is just a start point): Descendants of Deacon Daniel Markham.
Jack White, author of “The Bramford – Earls Colne Connection”. We met Jack at a triannual meeting of the Society of Middletown First Settler Descendants (SMFSD). He has been a real inspiration and Kem has collaborated with him on some work. Jack is a true professional and has done super work.
Mark Goodmansen, author of “Deacon Daniel Markham – His Life & Times”.
All three of these books are excellent and have provided us with much information. We are very appreciative of their work.
