Markham Dictionary. This is an informal dictionary of terms we have come across in our research. It is an ongoing work in progress, we add to it periodically. It’s a Word doc, if it doesn’t open automatically, you can save it to your device then open it. Link: Markham Transcriptions Dictionary

Markham Y DNA Story. Another Word document, this is the story of the Markham Y DNA, which is the paternal line (only males have Y DNA, it is passed from father to son), back to the beginning of humankind. My specific Y DNA group is called Isles B1. It starts with the general haplogroup I, then breaks down through several subgroups as I2a1a > P37 > M423 > L161 > S2639 > L1498 > Isles B1. Isles B1 is a subgroup of each of the proceeding group levels. Deacon Dan’s Y DNA would have been Isles B1, it was passed down nine generations to me. This paper was written by Jack Danel, who put a tremendous amount of time and research into it. I am very grateful to him. To find the story of my Markham paternal line back to the beginning of humankind is truly amazing. Link: Markham Y DNA Story
